Everything on board is under control thanks to the
efficient MMDS (Man Monitoring Diagnostic System) - an engine monitoring system with fault diagnosis. Electronic
sensors record important data such as engine speed, oil pressure, charge
air and coolant termperature and coolant level.
If the engine's state is critical an alarm sounds and,
if necessary, the engine output is automatically reduced by 25 %. The
alarms saved in the diagnostic unit can if required be read out by
computer for fast and reliable troubleshooting. Another advantage: the reduced cabling for displays,
instruments, accelerator control and optional standby propulsion system
means a considerable reduction in costs.
